@ H: Sorry, friend. Mr. Mayo's doesn't see to allow direct links to posts, oddly enough. It's the 1/11 entry referencing Susan Lynn. There used to be a podcast snippet of the conversation there, but it seems to have disappeared.

By the way I meant to tell you how fascinating I found your Rose Project link. Very cool.

What conversation with Mr. Mayo was actually referred to here? The link doesn't quite make it clear.

[...] First, lecturing. I think about this a lot as an educator. What’s the right amount? As a (sometimes) constructivist teacher, is there even a right amount? How do I do it appropriately while not boring my students to death? Can technology help, or is it just another way to bore people to death. [...]

Thanks for this post. It was a great read. Seems like too many educators forget that something is often lost with the adoption of technology. Just look at the car.
It's nice to know that there are people out there thinking critically about the use of technology, because I tell you, sometimes they can be hard to spot.
I watch kids walk across my campus, one of the prettiest I've ever worked at (full of tropical plants), never to look up to take their eyes off their cell phone/pda to notice the beauty that surrounds them.
"Sine qua non. You know, just saying." Ha!
