What the heck is this?
It’s a cartogram of the United States county-level voting results, using gradations of red and blue to represent differing percentages. (Thanks Kim!)

First of all, I have to say that I love the title of this post!
This is a brilliant graphic. You’re right that it is surprising not to see these things more frequently.
